When Last Mesaure approached me about doing music together back in the Fall of 2014, it was an interesting time in my life. I had just become a father in March and I was in between jobs. Things were in flux for sure but the music always kept things in balance.
So when me and Last Measure started working on those first few songs, the chemistry was undeniable. I had met a kindred spirit and it allowed us to become brothers most importantly. Since then, we have worked on so many songs, features and are 10 songs into a second album (entirely produced by Xplicit), with beats picked out for a third as well (entirely produced by Carnage).
There is no rocket science to the name of the group. We are called 40-40 because we are too old fucks in their early 40s, but the music remains the fine wine in the equation. When we both hit 50, we might change the name of the group....but i digress...
Working on the 40-40 debut album has been a true labor of love. The usual suspects such as Silensir and Carnage produced half the album, while European talent such as Dee Hammond, Kesti, Hot O's and CIHY BEATZ round out the lineup.
Features include Menace and Killa Monsoon cohorts such as Q.U.E.S.T. and Wes Studii.
This is my proudest and finest project thus far and I hope you guys feel the same way. We recorded about 24 songs for this project and were only able to whittle it down to 16 because the songs were that strong. Mostly concepts, stories and themes for you to digest. So if your into Hip-Hop with some science behind it, then look no further.
Make no mistake about it. This is for my brothers and sisters "trapped in the 90s". We will never apologize for that. If your feeling it, all we ask is that you help spread the word.
A video for Blood in the Snow is available, directed by our family HellSpawn Darkness as always. You can check it out here:

And for those asking.....yes, D.R.A.W. Side B dropping sooner than you think, and definitely before the end of the year.... hopefully... maybe....
